Originally built circa 1870, the Fyansford Paper Mills stands as one of Victoria’s earliest industrial sites—once the third-oldest paper mill in the state. In operation until 1923, the site later played a pivotal role in World War II as a manufacturing base for sea mines, before transitioning to quarry-related storage and eventually falling into disuse by the mid-20th century.
In recent years, the site has experienced a quiet resurgence—evolving into a mixed-use, multi-tenanted precinct accommodating hospitality, office, retail, storage, arts, and manufacturing ventures.
Perched on an escarpment along the northern bank of the Barwon River, the property lies approximately 6 kilometres west of Geelong CBD. At its highest elevation, it boasts sweeping north-westerly views toward Fyansford and a south-easterly outlook over the Barwon River, Buckley Falls, and the leafy suburb of Highton.
In late 2024, we proudly acquired this iconic site—an irreplaceable piece of Geelong’s industrial heritage with immense future potential. Backed by a proven track record in award-winning heritage restoration and urban renewal, we approach this opportunity with deep respect and long-term vision.
Our team is already developing plans to revitalise the precinct—preserving its rich character while future-proofing it for generations to come. As with all our projects, our goal is to make the site safer, more accessible, more sustainable, and more inviting for a wide range of uses and communities.
We look forward to sharing our vision for the Fyansford Paper Mills soon.
