Hamilton Group named finalist in three categories at the 2026 Geelong Business Excellence Awards

The Geelong Business Excellence Awards recognise businesses and leaders across the Greater Geelong region, so it’s great to see Hamilton Group recognised alongside such a strong group of local businesses.
More than 30 years in Geelong
Hamilton Group is a Geelong-based commercial property and construction company, working across commercial construction, fitouts, leasing and property management.
For more than 30 years and across three generations, we’ve taken a long-term approach to the properties and precincts we create.
Rather than building and moving on, we own and manage many of our properties, meaning our involvement continues well beyond construction. From the initial project through to leasing and ongoing property management, our team remains connected to our buildings and the businesses within them.
It’s an approach that has shaped projects across Geelong, including Federal Mills, Glass House and the Woolstores precinct.
Giving Geelong buildings a new life
Federal Mills is one example of what this approach can achieve.
Once a former woollen mill, the heritage site has been transformed into a thriving business precinct while retaining the industrial character and history that makes the buildings unique.
Today, Federal Mills is home to more than 50 businesses and over 1,000 people, forming part of the wider Pivot City precinct in North Geelong.
The transformation of Federal Mills has also received recognition nationally, including the UDIA National Award for Excellence for Urban Renewal in 2022.
The same long-term thinking continues across our current Geelong projects, including Henderson’s in North Geelong, Brights & Hitchcock’s in the Geelong CBD and the Regent Theatre.
For us, it’s about creating places that businesses want to be part of, while preserving and reimagining some of Geelong’s most significant buildings.
Welcoming the Business of the Year judges
As part of the 2026 Geelong Business Excellence Awards judging process, we recently welcomed the Business of the Year judges to Hamilton Group.
It was a great opportunity for the judges to meet our team, learn more about what we do day to day and hear about the thinking behind our approach to construction and property.
After more than three decades in Geelong, it was also a chance to reflect on how the business has grown and the projects, tenants, partners and people who have been part of that journey.
